It all started innocently enough. Who knew it would go this far?

You see, "Kara the Harp Seal" was a nothing more than a cute little stuffed animal, forgotten among the many other toys and trinkets that adorned the desk of my coworker. Until one day, when—unbeknownst to anyone—I decided to rescue that poor seal from its monotonous existence and send it on the adventure of a lifetime!

Each day would bring a new letter from Kara to its owner, complete with pictures from all her latest excursions. Of course, being a toy animal, Kara didn't possess the greatest of wordly knowledge. But that didn't stop her from experiencing all the suspense, intrigue, and excitement that comes with a trip around the world. I finally returned the seal a couple of weeks later, thankful that no one had called the authorities.

But that was only the beginning...

Thinking others might get a kick out of the whole thing, I turned the letters and pictures into a web site and posted it on the Internet for everyone to see. Soon, family and friends were asking what Kara would do next. Unfortunately, Kara's rightful owner had taken to diligently guarding against would-be sealnappers such as myself. I wasn't about to disappoint my audience, though, and with the help of a crafty company director and his loyal assistant I "rescued" Kara once more. This time it was off to the amusement park, where I produced a four-minute video that fast became a hit. That set Kara's place in history, and things just haven't been the same since.
